The teacher from Bella's Spanish Camp called me while I was out running errands a bit ago and told me Bella was complaining of a headache, tummy ache and her ears ringing. I was suspicious that she merely wanted to come home early, but since it wasn't regular school I relented and came to pick her up. When I arrived she was resting and the minute she saw me her eyes lit up and she suddenly seemed to be feeling better. On the way out the door she said "mommy, I know you're going to ask me 100 times, and yes I do have a tummy ache, my ears are still ringing, but now my headache is gone". I assured it was okay and told her as soon as we got home she could go up to her cool, dark room without any electronics, TV or coloring and rest until we had to go back in an hour and a half to pick up her sister. Upon hearing this she promptly asked me if she could stay at camp.... hmmmm, my suspicions were founded. So now, here we are at home, she is laying in her bed having a 2 year old temper tantrum because she wanted me to read books to her and at least DO SOME'FING (as she says something) -- 'C"MON mom", she wailed, "you can read books to me and I can still rest". I continue to assure her, "honey, you are sick, you must rest to get over this sickness."
I am teaching you a lesson right now, little girl. Ugh, teaching lessons is no fun, but so necessary. You are only at camp 2 days a week to keep up with your Spanish, Bella, 2 days.
Couldn't someone else be assigned to this part of parenting??
